We are seeking to welcome a driven, detail-focused and analytically minded Legal Advisor (Band 4T) to join our Legal Department reporting to the Manager of Legal Department.
Overall Job Definition
Legal Advisor is responsible for providing assistance regarding different issues and various problems of legal character related to the Bank such as review and evaluation of the completeness of documentation of legal entities (commercial companies, non-profit organizations etc.) or individuals required for various bank transactions, drafting of various legal agreements where one of the parties is the Bank, and the pursuit of various problems that might arise between the Bank and third parties, or between the Bank and state or private institutions. Legal Advisor shall be responsible for the representation before the judiciary and providing legal opinions regarding the regularity of ownership title of any type of property serving as collateral for loans.
Main Responsibilities:
To provide legal opinion on validity of all legal documents related to opening and operation of a bank account (legalization file);
To prepare and update legalization file of legal entities and sole proprietorships;
To audit and issue opinions on the legal status of real estate, movable property or security interest provided as collateral for loans;
To audit and edit texts (i.e agreements, contracts, power of attorney, shareholder decisions, letter of credits, bank guarantees etc.) concerning credit extended to private individuals or businesses;
To provide legal advice and assist Loan Administration Department in drafting loan documentation (corporate, SME, retail loans);
To provide legal support on matters of SME and corporate banking and issue relevant legal opinions;
To record, alter or cancel mortgages, securing charges or any other security interest on immovable or movable properties provided as collateral for loans granted by the bank;
Any other duty assigned by the supervisor.
Competencies / Skills:
Required Bachelor Degree in Law, preferred Master Degree in Banking/ Finance/ Corporate Law
Minimum 3 years of experience in legal/contract drafting function is required.
Good knowledge of civil code as well as the legislation on commercial companies. Preferable to have also a good knowledge of banking legislation.
Excellent drafting skills.
Demonstrate experience in support to different organization units.
Demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking skills.
Very good organization skills and details- oriented.
Ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels in and out of the organization.
Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and deliver an excellent work product in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines.
Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information with the ability to exercise discretion and show good judgment; honesty, integrity.
Very good command of written and spoken English and computer literate.
